Reader's Review

John Baker

On the negotiator as an agent: " the great gift of the Minister lies in his not making enemies for his Master or his Country (p. 53).

There are many, many more similar observations throughout Antoine Pecquet's work. It is a fascinating book. Let me conclude this review as I did the earlier one of Callieres' work from the same era by saying "if you are comfortable with an antique style, [seek] an affirmation of the timelessness and importance of negotiations practice or simply wish a thought-provoking escape from current negotiations literature, you will find there are many nuggets of gold in this volume."

Recommended.
